What I Value
A diverse range of artworks by clients & staff of Community Living Options
continuing until 28 June
Community Living Options is a values-based Disability and Mental Health support provider covering the whole of Adelaide and the Fleurieu region. Their mission is to help create positive life journeys, supporting individual’s dreams, choices and individuality.
The Vision is that people with disabilities experience a great life. To this end, each artwork depicts just that and is the common thread that joins them all together. Within that, each artist has his/her own dream, own choice and own individuality, which has resulted in this diverse range showcasing their talents.
CLO felt that having an art exhibition in a professional visual arts space such as Gallery M would open up new collaborative opportunities for expression through art; creating an inspiring environment and promoting community inclusiveness.
The overall theme for the exhibition is – “What I Value” which will give a meaningful but diverse range of pieces to exhibit. Exploring values is an important aspect of self-reflection which in turn allows for growth.
There are 20 individuals exhibiting art works – both staff and clients – creating a collaborative representation of the organisation’s values. Participants are amateurs and have not had their work displayed in a gallery previously.
