An exhibition of artworks by members of the South Australian Watercolour Society

7 August – 6 September – (HALF GALLERY)

This showcase of artworks by members of the South Australian Watercolour Society Inc (SAWS) will focus on the versatility of the watercolour medium.

The group was founded in May 2012, with their mission being “to promote the practice and enjoyment of watercolours”. Membership of SAWS is open to anyone with an interest in watercolour painting, and many of South Australia’s top artists are included in their ranks.

SAWS is an unrestricted open society with a single tiered membership, welcoming novices and accomplished artists alike. Members range from outright beginners to expert professionals and everything in between. The Society owes its existence largely due to the Interim President Gerhard Ritter, who has been the driving force behind its creation; and the extensive assistance provided by a very supportive and hard working committee.

The society is headquartered at the Marchant Community Centre (Old Athelstone Primary School), and their program of activities includes regular twice weekly painting sessions, demonstrations, workshops and exhibitions. For more information go to at their website www.saws.org.au
